The Wayback Machine - the internet archive
The main source of information is this initiative of The Internet Archive, a non-profit organization that since the turn of the century has been archiving web pages. This does not mean the each and every page that ever existed has been stored in their archives. A good example is the web of the East Coast Warriors that unless someone has information stored personally is lost forever.
So how can one find information about Ogre Island?
The first step is easy and does not even need much explanation. Just enter "ogre island" in the search box of the Wayback Machine and hit Enter.
Click on captures
Select which year of captures you are interested in, each capture is a snapshot of the web that day and hour, sometimes with deep access to all the links, sometime not.
When you selected the year, hover over the date you are interested in and click on the date when it shows up
This takes you to the URL at that moment in history. In the top bar you can either see changes snapshot by snapshot the "previous" and "next" buttons, or click somewhere on the timeline.
Most links are normally active, but might not have the same amount of captures over time. This might be because of changing URLs, for instance "playerguide.asp" might change to "playerguide.aspx" and is archived differently.
Sometimes the page is redirected. With some patience normally the redirected page shows up.
In this case the new homs page at that time active during about 4 years under that exact URL.
